NYANGA Police this week received a boost ahead of their 2022 sporting calendar after two corporates – Dongo Sawmills and Rakabopa Hardwares – handed over 80 tracksuits and 80 T-shirts to the institution.
Officer Commanding Nyanga District, Chief Superintendent Plaxedes Phuti, hailed the donation saying the corporate sector continues to be an all-weather friend for the police force.
“We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation for the kind donation of the tracksuits by the two organisations, Dongo Sawmills and Rakabopa Hardwares towards our 2022 sporting events. The corporate world continues to stand with us (police) even during tough times.”
Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka said the relationship between police and the corporate sector continues to grow in leaps and bounds.
Dongo Sawmills proprietor, Mr Francis Dongo said: “We will continue to nurture the relationship that we have with the police as they play a critical role in combating crime and safeguarding residents and villagers against criminal elements. This is not the first time we have done this. We will continue to work with police for the betterment of communities.”
Mr Jonathan Rakabopa pledged to continue assisting the police in “every possible way”, saying the relationship between corporates and police should always be cemented.
