PREMIERSHIP hopefuls, Mutare City Rovers’ chase for promotion remained on course following their 1-0 victory over Surrey at Sakubva Stadium on Saturday.
A first half Allen Zhanje solitary strike was all the municipality-owned outfit needed to keep the pressure on early pacesetters, GreenFuel (second position) and Ruwa Progroup (first).
The victory took their points tally to 14 from seven games and are tied with GreenFuel, who have a game in hand, but trail Ruwa Progroup by two.

In the weekend’s other matches involving teams from Manicland, Buffaloes got the better of Masvingo United at Mucheke with a 2-0 victory, while Nzuma Bar went down 1-2 at home to Lowveld United.
The search for a first win continues for Manica Diamonds Juniors following their 2-0 loss away to Melfort.
The match between JM Busha 54 and GreenFuel was postponed.
