ZIMBABWE Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has described the media as one of the critical stakeholders in the dissemination of information in the fight against corruption.

Speaking during an Anti-Corruption Reporting Workshop held in Mutare yesterday, ZACC Commissioner, Commissioner Kuziwa Murapa, highlighted the workshop’s aim to stimulate journalists’ understanding and capacity in reporting on corruption, saying this underscores the vital partnership between the media and anti-corruption agencies in fostering transparency and accountability within institutions.

Commissioner Murapa further emphasised the importance of investigative journalism in uncovering corrupt practices and holding perpetrators accountable.

“By equipping journalists with the necessary skills and knowledge, workshops like these empower the media to fulfill its essential role in promoting transparency and fostering public trust,” he said.
