BUDDING hip-hop youngsters, The Trophy Kings, have stormed the music industry with distinction by dedicating one of their three new singles to St Dominic’s High School and described it as a learning institution of excellence. While hate and dirty lyrics are common with local and international hip-hop, the group comprising two St Dominic’s High School students, Barbridge Makope (16) and Nabil Mohamadi (17) proved that hip-hop can carry messages that inspire souls.

The three hit singles are Till I drop, St Dominic’s High and Pray. The songs were produced and mastered by talented and dynamic producer, Olin Anderson at Kunashe Studios in Chikanga.

In an interview, the artistes said they were inspired by Drake, Trevor Dongo, Xq and MMT.
“We are happy to release these singles. It is a dream come true and we must say this is a stepping stone for a brighter future in the music industry. We are glad that our parents support us. We are highly motivated. In the near future we see ourselves as great hip-hop musicians who will be recognized locally and internationally,” said Barbridge.

Mohamadi chipped in and said they dedicated the song St Dominic’s to all their school mates as well as their headmaster.
Goes part of the lyrics, “St Dominic’s we are here, we gotta show light even at night it’s gonna be bright.”
