IT was a tale of mixed fortunes for Manicaland’s top-flight league teams after correctional services side Tenax managed a surprise 1-0 away win over ZPC Kariba yesterday while their crosstown rivals Manica Diamonds settled for a 0-0 stalemate against FC Platinum today.

Tenax surprised everyone including themselves when they rose from a disappointing loss against Herentals at Sakubva Stadium last weekend to win this away league encounter.

It is now more homework for Gem Boys gaffer Johanisi Nhumwa to get his team’s race for the title back on the rails after slipping to fourth position on the table, while Tenax coach Shadreck Mugurasave will now need to ensure his side remains consistent.

In the next round of Castle Lager Premiership matches, Tenax face CAPS United at Sakubva Stadium while Manica Diamonds visit high-riding Chicken Inn away in Bulawayo.
