THE flea market situated at Moto-Moto in Mutare’s Central Business District, which operates during weekends only, is re-opening, the Mutare City Council has announced.

In a public notice this afternoon, the local authority said the city flea market re-opens this Saturday and payments to secure space can start tomorrow.

“Notice is hereby given to all residents and stakeholders that the City of Mutare will be re-opening the Moto-Moto Weekend Flea Market with effect from June 11. The payment for this weekend will start on Thursday, June 9 at 2pm at Housing and Community Services Department,” reads the statement.

The fee for each weekend day is US$5.70

Adds the statement: “Traders should have a movable standard shed, no permanency of stalls, stalls are acquired on a first come first serve basis, no multiple occupancy of stalls (one person per table), traders should acquire space during the week days (from Monday to Friday) and no advance payments for stalls.”

City of Mutare said for the acquisition process, traders should visit their Community Services Department for allocation, make payments at the finance office and then produce the receipt to the assistant community service officer for capturing on allocation.

Traders were also urged to uphold Covid-19 preventive measures during their operations.
