ARTISTS in Manicaland have been urged to put up a united front so as to effectively and convincingly tell the province’s story to the world while also broadening the industry.
Over the years, the province has produced top performers in the arts industry that have captured the nation’s imagination owing to their unique style.
In an interview, Makoni District Arts Officer, Mr Gabriel Kariramombe urged creatives in different arts disciplines to form synergies as a way of amplifying their voices and magnifying their works.
He said this can help grow the industry.
“Manicaland has a lot to offer to the country and the world in terms of arts and culture because of the province’s unique nature. This calls for artistes to work together with established ones and groom budding talent. Their quality of work will subsequently improve and, therefore, have high impact locally, nationally and globally,” he said.
Mr Kariramombe added that the arts sector can be lucrative if it is treated as a business.
He said the creative industry has huge potential to significantly contribute to the growth of both the province’s and the country’s GDP as many people work in the arts, culture and creative industry.
