ZIFA Division Two soccer outfit, Africa University, which started the season on a high note is confident of gaining promotion into the more fashionable Division One after assembling a new team comprising different nationals from across the African continent.

AU, which boast players from African countries such as Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Angola, Nigeria and Zimbabwe last weekend shared the spoils with Honde Valley-based outfit, Hauna Sweepers 0-0. They are set to be awarded three points after Tisu Anhu Acho failed to fulfill their first fixture.

The league enters its third week and the varsity students face Zimunya FC on Sunday.

“We are optimistic that we will end the league on a high note especially with the calibre of players that we have. We believe that we have the arsenal to compete with other teams in the league,” said the team manager, Frank Bhunu.
