NETONE, the second largest mobile network operator in Zimbabwe has spread its wings to Rusape where it opened a state-of-the-art customer service support branch at the town’s heart.

The move will add convenience to its clients in Rusape and Makoni, which is the largest district in Manicaland. NetOne acquired the building hosting the branch for an undisclosed amount.

The branch was officially opened last Saturday after two months of piloting. The branch is situated opposite Edgars and Bata shops at the heart of Rusape.

Its interior defines sophistication of a well finished touch of class with their corporate orange and black colours perfectly blended in.

NetOne regional accounts manager, Mr Farai Matope, said the branch would add convenience and efficiency to their clients in Makoni.

The mobile cellular firm has more than 330 000 active subscribers in Manicaland.

“We have more than 330 000 active subscribers that we bill every day and this branch will serve our clients in Makoni and Buhera. There is a lot of potential and we expect this branch to grow and increase our penetration of Makoni,” said Mr Matope.

The Rusape branch will offer a myriad of services that include mobile financial services, bulky airtime, vehicle tracking services, and sim replacements, among others.

Mr Matope said a technical team would man NetOne’s expansive network sites in Makoni.

“Bringing this branch close to the customers in Rusape means we will be able to respond to their needs quickly. Our technical team stationed here will also be able to attend to emergencies promptly,” he said.

Of late, NetOne mobile services were being accessed, albeit with challenges, at Zimpost, which is the mobile network operator’s strategic partner since the launch a mobile money product.

Zimpost is a natural partner for NetOne as both were divisions in Post and Telecommunications Corporation (PTC) before it was unbundled into four separate entities – the People’s Own Savings Bank, Zimpost, TelOne and NetOne.

NetOne is riding on an updated version of OneFusion which is way more generous in terms of data and voice calls.

The $5 entry bundle now comes with 300MB up from 15MB and the $10 package will get you 800MB.

Its improved DAD (Dollar a Day) bundles are available for 50c, $1, $2, $5 and $10 options with allocations for voice minutes SMS and data.

They come with a lower allocation of on-net (NetOne to NetOne) voice call minutes for peak hours (15 minutes for $1) and instead of the unlimited calls offer for on-net calls made during off-peak hours, subscribers will only get 120 minutes.
