HULKY Brighton Mazikana’s star keeps shining after his name was included on the provisional list of the team to represent Zimbabwe in the second edition of the Arnold Classic Africa in South Africa this year.

The Arnold Classic Africa is one of the biggest annual multi-sport event on the African continent with a fitness and lifestyle Expo over three days and the National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness have released a provisional list ahead of the show.

The Arnold Classic is hosted on six continents.

This year the event is slated for Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa at the Sandton Convention Centres from May 5-7.

Top Zimbabwean bodybuilders, Paul Goredema and Botswana-based Munashe Matandirotya are also expected to represent the nation at the event.

NFZBBF spokesperson, Quiet Shangai, told the media that they are happy having managed to send 28 at the inaugural show.

“It is exciting that the numbers are increasing. However, we are expecting better performance from last year’s show. We are learning from last year and we are confident that we will bring awards this year.

“The selected team is provisional. There might be additions or subtractions, but basically they are the core of the athletes to represent Zimbabwe,” he said.

The iconic personality Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will attend this annual event in Johannesburg, a city internationally known for its care and dedication for sport.

The Arnold Classic Africa will host more than 50 sports and events with more than 12 000 participants over three days.

The event was launched on the Africa Continent in South Africa in May 2016 as a Multi-Sport and Lifestyle Expo with Gauteng Provincial Government as the host province.

According to the organiser, Wayne Price, their aim is to promote healthy lifestyles.

“Our focus on the weekend is to present the best qualitative and quantitative presentation of a wide range of sport and fitness activities to especially the youth, with the objective to get them active and living a healthier lifestyle.”
