IN an act of revenge after being rejected by her lover, a jilted Chimanimani woman allegedly ‘locked’ the man and further compounded his woes by pressing rape charges against him.

The estranged girlfriend, Rudo Muzengenhamo (23) was recently dragged to Chief Ngorima’s court, accused of fixing her long time lover, Happyton Chitsunge (24), who is now suffering from a strange ailment that resulted in the swelling of his private organ.

Chitsunge is also reportedly suffering from erectile dysfunction and all efforts to have a remedy to his ailment have been futile, resulting in him seeking the community court’s intervention.

Muzengenhamo and Chitsunge reportedly fell in love in 2016 and parted ways after Chitsunge discovered that his girlfriend was a two-timing lover.

This allegedly did not go down well with Muzengenhamo who promised Chitsunge some misery in his life.

Two weeks after the warning, Chitsunge’s privates started swelling and he began suffering from erectile dysfunction.

This took a toll on his new relationship.

In an interview with The Weekender, Chitsengu said he is yet to recover from the ailment.

“It was in 2016 when this problem started after sleeping with Muzengenhamo while she was in Form Two. The relationship was short-lived after I found her with another men in the room she was renting.

“When we separated, my privates started swelling. At first I thought it was a sexually transmitted disease. I went to the clinic, but the situation did not change.

“I then went to Chipinge District Hospital, but nothing changed as well. They tried everything to cure my ailment, all in vain. I engaged traditional healers who told me that my ex-girlfriend (Muzengenhamo) had locked me.

“I am in pain right now. The swelling of my privates is an on and off experience.

“Whenever I admire a girl, I feel excruciating pain on my privates. I have lost a lot of money engaging traditional healers, but with no solution.

“I can’t be intimate with anyone right now. I was shocked to be arrested for allegedly raping Muzenganhamo at a community court,” said Chitsunge.

In January this year, Chitsunge dragged Muzengenhamo to Chief Ngorima’s court over his deteriorating health.

While at the community court, Chief Ngorima advised the two to consult a prophetess.

The prophetess allegedly told the two to be intimate again for Chitsunge to be healed.

The two did as advised by the healer.

However, Muzengenhamo later accused Chitsunge of raping her.

Last week, Chitsunge appeared before Chipinge regional magistrate, Mr Noel Mupeiwa, facing rape charges.

He pleaded not guilty.

Testifying in court, Muzengenhamo said she was instructed to be intimate with Chitsunge at Chief Ngorima’s court.

“Your worship, Chitsunge started raping me in 2016 while I was at secondary school and I remained mum about the abuse. He recently confronted me, accusing me of fixing him. He claimed that he is not performing in his marriage because of me.

“He dragged me to Chief Ngorima’s court in January 2023, accusing me of being the source of his problems. While we were at the community court, we were instructed to visit a prophetess who instructed us to be intimate again.

“We went back to the court and there was a stalemate on that issue. After the court had adjourned, Chistunge dragged me to a nearby bush where he raped me once. I want justice to prevail as I was chased away by my husband because of this incident,” said Muzengenhamo.

Her father, Norweyi Mazengenhamo, also testified in court and said Chitsunge abused his daughter.

“I accompanied my daughter to the community court. There was a heated argument on whether my daughter and Chitsunge should be intimate again as had been advised by the prophetess.

“When the court adjourned, I was surprised to see my daughter coming from the bush with Chitsunge. She told me that Chitsunge had raped her,” said Mr Muzengenhamo

However, Chitsunge’s attorney, Mr Benjamin Bhasikiti of Gwamanda Law Firm, said Muzengenhamo fabricated the allegations against his client and wants to fix him for dumping her.

“My client and Muzengenhamo consented to be intimate in 2016 while they were still young. She is trying to fix Chitsunge for deserting her.

“There is also a possibility that Muzengenhamo wants to fix her ex-lover since there is now instability in her marriage as a result of my client’s health issues,”said Mr Bhasikiti.

Testifying in court, Chief Ngorima said he did not advise Chitsunge and Muzengenhamo to get intimate.

“It is unheard of for a chief to pass such kind of a judgment.

“The court never ruled that the two should be intimate for Chitsunge to recover from his ailment.

“The two families were advised to consult traditional healers in the presence of my aides. We are yet to get feedback from the families’ consultations,” said Chief Ngorima.

Mr Mupeiwa acquitted Chitsunge saying the State failed to produce enough incriminating evidence against him. Mr Themba Dhliwayo prosecuted.
