MANICA Diamonds FC  coach Luke Masomere  is already looking forward to their next Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Hwange this weekend as they seek to build on Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Mushowani Stars.

The Gem Boys as Manica Diamonds are affectionately known will have a long trip to Hwange for their fifth game of the season.

The match will be played on Sunday at the Colliery Stadium.

The Gem Boys  are coming from 1-0 victory over new boys Mushowani Stars, a result which Masomere believes gave his team some confidence ahead of the Hwange Clash.

He also said their victory was a brief relief in a campaign dominated by a draw, a defeat with the other only win coming up against Harare City.

Masomere  has challenged his charges to use the Mushowani win as a launch pad for a consistent run.

“Beating Mushowani Stars is a morale-booster considering our performance so far. It is important for us that we start collecting maximum points. We have to win the Hwange match and carry on from that. But I am sure we have the capacity and the belief to go out there and compete. Our aim is to go out there and win,” he said.

However, the much travelled gaffer admitted that Hwange FC are a tricky opponent, especially when they are playing at their hunting ground.

“It is going to be a very difficult game. There are a lot of challenges that are associated with playing away from home. I am still confident of victory. Anything is possible in a game of football. It is every coach’s desire to win. We are going there to fight for three points,” he added.

Ever since Masomere and his charges moved to Gibbo stadium following the banishment of Sakubva and Vengere stadiums  by the Premier Soccer League for failing to meet the required standards,  he said they have been receiving overwhelming support from their Chiredzi fans.
