MEMBER of the Zanu-PF National Consultative Assembly Alice Mutindori has distanced herself from her daughter’s affair with former Zanu-PF provincial youth chairman Tawanda Mukodza saying they are two consenting adults.
In an unsolicited interview on Tuesday, Mutindori said her political position had no bearing on what is going on between them and Mukodza’s former wife, Mavis Kasukusa.

“What is going on between my daughter, Mukodza and Kasukusa has nothing to do with me. We are talking about three adults here and making me a part of their affair will be unfair.

“I am a respectable member of the ruling party and people know that I do not misuse my power and influence.

“I do not even know Mavis and I am failing to understand why she was mentioning my name. Despite the length of the court session, I did not set my foot at the courts to be part of the proceedings, so tarnishing my image by claiming that I am using my position in the ruling party to wreck her marriage is something totally unfounded. When people are emotional, they can say anything,” said Mutindori.

Mukodza’s former wife, Mavis Kasukusa, with whom he sired three children in their six-year marriage, claimed that Mukodza’s new-found love Lorraine Nyamande was using her mother’s Zanu-PF position to ruin her marriage.

Mukodza and Nyamande were set to wed on June 20 at Mutare Civil Court, but Kasukusa was just in time to stop the intended union.

In a court session presided over by Mutare magistrate Mrs Sekesayi Chiundura, Kasukusa was claiming that until Mukodza finished paying the pride price to her father, he would not marry anyone else and sharing the same sentiments was her father, Mr Climate Mugabe, who wanted $50 000 as compensation from Mukodza for siring three children with his daughter and dumping her at the end, for another woman.
