THIS year’s eagerly anticipated Montclair Annual Winter Festival roars to life this weekend with man-of-the-moment Jah Prayzah and Zimdancehall sensation Killer T set to light up the sleepy town of Nyanga.

The event which will be held at Montclair Hotel and Casino in Juliasdale, was previously headlined by the late Oliver Mtukudzi who would ensure that fun lovers were treated to some good music every June.

This year’s event will take place later during the day after a two-day golf tournament that will see amateur and professional golf players taking part.

The fiesta starts today with a golf tournament which will be for junior golfers constituting of school-going children. Last year the organizers pledged to develop the young players’ skills.

Tomorrow (Saturday), adult golfers will then meet on the golf course.

The tournament will then be curtained down by some of the country’s best top entertainers — Jah Prayzah and Killer T, as well as popular wheel spinner, Abisha Palmer.

Last year’s carnival was graced by popular artiste, Nutty O, who left people clamouring for more.

The festival is expected to bring together people from across Manicaland province and beyond. This will promote domestic tourism as people will have the opportunity to visit various scenic sites in Nyanga.

Jah Prayzah recently left thousands of fun lovers begging for more when he performed at Diamond FM’s seventh year celebrations at Osborne Dam. He is expected to continue from where he left.

He is currently riding high with his chartbuster album ‘Chiremerera’ which carries danceable tracks such as ‘Sarungano’, ‘Hasha’ and ‘Hurungudo’.

Killer T, who never disappoints on stage, is expected to wow fans with new hits such as ‘Uri kupisa’, ‘Mjolo’ and ‘Tanamata’ drawn from his recently-released album ‘Tirivema Streets’.

His old hits include ‘Takangodaro’ and ‘Hakete’.

Montclair Hotel and Casino general manager Brian Nyakutombwa said they are looking forward to having a blissful weekend of sports and entertainment.

“We are excited with the response the event has received so far. A lot of people have registered to be part of the carnival and we are looking forward to having a great show,” he said.

The event’s marketing executive, Busi Tutani said, “It’s all systems go. We urge people to be time conscious and enjoy every bit of the itinerary. It is going to be a memorable event.”
