INFORMATION, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Senator Monica Mutsvangwa last week presented villagers in Mutasa and Nyanga with early Christmas presents after she donated fertilisers, seed maize, wheelchairs, walking sticks and food hampers to them.

Elderly women received food hampers, wheelchairs and walking sticks, as well as farming inputs, while younger women received farming inputs.

She made the donation during ZANU PF’s Women’s League inter-district meetings held last week on Friday in Mutasa and Nyanga respectively.

Senator Mutsvangwa encouraged women to use the developments being spearheaded by President Mnangagwa to mobilise fellow women to vote for the revolutionary party.

“President Mnangagwa has achieved so much in the few years that he has been in power. We never experienced such achievements in the 38 years prior to him getting into office. Go out there and preach that and surely we will win the 2023 harmonised elections resoundingly.

“As Zimbabweans, embrace your culture and safeguard your heritage because no one else will do that for you. We need to safeguard our heritage and culture for future generations, otherwise they will have nothing to remember as part of our history. Go out there and teach young women about our culture and our heritage and its importance,” she said.

Senator Mutsvangwa urged the leadership to remain united, while maintaining transparency and accountability as they campaign for the party in their respective areas.

“With the right people in leadership, we will surely garner more than five million votes during next year’s harmonised elections. You should continue encouraging more people to register as voters. They should vote for the right candidates, starting with President Mnangagwa,” said Senator Mutsvangwa.

She added: “President Mnangagwa has spearheaded a lot of infrastructural developments in this province and the country at large. Roads that were destroyed by Cyclone Idai were immediately restored through his able leadership. Top of the art clinics and schools are being built and solar power systems are being installed under the leadership of President Mnangagwa.

“To bridge the Information Communication Technology gaps between school going children in rural and urban schools, ICT equipment has been availed to rural schools. All these developments happened in the few years that President Mnangagwa has been in power.

“We never had such achievements before the Second Republic came into power. He has achieved so much more in a few years. Go therefore, and open the eyes of the people in your respective areas so that they know who to vote for, come next year’s harmonised elections,” said Senator Mutsvangwa.

She said President Mnangagwa has the people at heart and will not bend to the western countries and their allies who want a puppet Government in Zimbabwe.

“They want a puppet Government, but that will not happen in Zimbabwe. President Mnangagwa will not be used as a puppet because he knows that the Zimbabwean land and resources belong to the people of Zimbabwe. Sanctions or no sanctions, our President will keep on with his re-engagement and engagement efforts. You should not be left behind, join in on the country’s development journey because like what the President always says, a country is built by its people,” she said.
