LOVE is discovered, not made, some say. Others say it is found in the heart and nurtured in the heart. Well, everyone defines love the way they feel. Everybody is an expert when it comes to this subject. But is it possible to complete or balance the equation of love without speaking it? The answer is yes!

This is the story of love unlimited, between deaf and dumb Talent Tatenda Saruchera who recently tied the knot with beautiful deaf and dumb Netsai Mugumisi.

While many of us believe the journey of love is travelled on the spoken word, not so with the deaf and dumb. You can sign-speak your love from beginning to finish, from heart to heart without saying a single word. Indeed, it is what one feels that matters, not what they say.

“I do-I do until death do us part,” Tatenda and Netsai begin a life journey together

Where is the story in this story? Certainly in role modelling; teaching others by example, and not in being surprised that the deaf and dumb can get married too, for that is obvious.

What is surprisingly true, as is true in this story, is that there is no physical challenge or disability that leads to in- ability. And doing the right thing is not a reserve for those who are not physically challenged. Speaking to The Manica Post recently through an interpreter, Talent said he waited for five years to reach this beautiful India.

“I met Netsai in 2012. As soon as I saw her I knew I loved her but also knew the journey would be long before calling her mine and tying the knot. I had to see the tetes and observed all traditional protocol to reach this point,” he said. Talent said because he is a serious Adventist, he had to do what the Bible teaches about marriage and it helped him.

“Here I am today. God is great. Thank you to Pastor Mutara, who presided over my nuptials and allowed God to hand me over my sweetheart for life.”

Talent told The Manica Post that the church must help other people like Netsai and hhim to make no excuses about being deaf and dumb. “They must not hide behind it to misbehave and anger God,” he said. Talent works as a maintenance handy- man at a hotel in South Africa. He is a lay-evangelist (pastor in apprenticeship).

The Manica Post wishes this lawfully wedded couple a permanent blissful marriage. It is written in the stars in God’s handwriting.
