A MARANGE man has appeared in court facing allegations of stabbing his cousin to death after he tried to restrain him from assaulting his wife following a heated domestic dispute.

Kuziva Mukunguma appeared at Mutare Magistrates’ Court charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed Agent Mukunguma to death with a knife.

He was not asked to plead to the charges when he appeared before magistrate Tendai Mahwe, who remanded him in custody.

He was asked him to approach the High Court for bail application.

The State led by Mr Chris Munyuki alleged that on April 19 this year Mukunguma was fighting with his wife following a domestic dispute.

Reports are that his cousin, Agent Mukunguma, intervened and tried to restrain him from assaulting his wife.

This did not go down well with Mukunguma who then turned his anger on his cousin.

Allegations are that Mukunguma then stabbed his cousin three times on the left side of his chest.

Agent is said to have sustained serious injuries that led to his death.

The matter was taken to police leading to Mukunguma’s arrest on the following day.

He was taken to court charged with murder.
