THE 2023 edition of the Manicaland Agricultural Show is around the corner, and preparations for the annual event are at an advanced stage.

The four-day exhibition show will be held from September 21 to 24.

Its theme for 2023 is “Innovation and Collaboration for Sustainable Growth”.

The annual showcase provides corporates with an opportunity to reach out to the public in Manicaland and beyond in an effort to promote brand visibility.

Manicaland Agricultural Show Society administrator, Mrs Pedzisai Rusero confirmed that 85 exhibitors, a huge chunk of them being Government departments, have already confirmed their participation.

“This year’s show will be held from September 21 to 24. We expect this year’s edition to be better than last year because many exhibitors are coming.

“We have 85 exhibitors that have registered so far. Our space is limited this year, and those willing to exhibit must come in time,” she said.

In 2019, more than 180 exhibitors from different sectors of the economy showcased their wares and services at the show.

A total of 149 had been recorded the previous year.

Zimbabwe’s trade fair season begins with the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in April, followed by the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show in Harare in August and then regional fairs such as the Manicaland Agricultural Show. It then cascades down to district level.

On the entertainment front, Mrs Rusero also confirmed that celebrated musician, Jah Prayzah, will perform during the event on Saturday, September 22, 2023, while Mutare gospel music diva, Dorcas Moyo, will go on stage the next day.

In Chipinge, preparations for the district show are also progressing well, with over 100 exhibitors expected to grace the event. This year’s show is slated for September 14 to 16.

Chipinge Show Society vice chairperson, Mr James Gabaza invited exhibitors to come on board.

“Preparations for the Chipinge Agriculture Show are at an advanced level. We are expecting exhibitors from Manicaland and beyond.

“Those willing to participate can come and register with the Chipinge District Agritex offices as stands are still available,” said Mr Gabaza.

He also called on all stakeholders to come and build permanent structures at the show society venue.

“We are calling for big cooperates to come and build permanent structures at the show site. The stands are available and we are selling them at affordable prices,” he said.
