A BODY of a man, suspected to be between 30 and 40 years, was on Sunday found floating in Sakubva River in a suspected case of murder.
The corpse was found underneath a footbridge which links Sakubva and Chikanga with bruises all over it.
The man, whose identity was yet to be established, had froth and blood coming from the mouth.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luxson Chananda confirmed the incident.
“An informant called the police and alerted them that there was a body that was floating in Sakubva River underneath a footbridge which links Sakubva and Chikanga. Police attended the scene and retrieved the body. The identity of the man is yet to be established.
“He was wearing a blue pair of trousers and black shirt. Froth was coming from his mouth, while his left palm had a deep cut. He had a swollen left eye and he was also bleeding from the mouth,” said Inspector Chananda.
Investigations are in progress.
