A MUTARE woman has been barred from visiting her mother-in-law due to her violent nature.

Farai Musika recently appeared before Mutare magistrate, Mr Xavier Chipato as he was applying for a protection order against his wife, Anna Saidi and her brother White Ronald Saidi.

White was in default.

Musika said Anna recently teamed up with White and proceeded to their family home in Penhalonga to demand a share of her property following their separation.

“She left our matrimonial home saying she was fed up with the marriage. I was surprised when she came back with her brother to harass me.

“She is acting innocent here, but when it comes to fighting, she is a master and I am always the victim.

“White removed asbestos sheets from the roof of the house. He assaulted and insulted me and I had to run for my dear life. I think Anna fed White with lies about the ownership of the house,” said Musika.

“My mother is the owner of the house. She allowed us to use the house as we had nowhere to stay. However, due to my ex-wife’s violent nature, my mother kicked us out.

“I proposed to her that we move to Honde Valley and start our own life, but she refused. Although l love my wife, I do not want her near my mother’s house,” said Musiiwa.

He also said White has been threatening him with further assaults.

“I am now staying with my sister as I fear for my life. I am thinking of moving to Mozambique for the sake of my safety,” said Musika.

In response, Anna said she moved out of her matrimonial home due to Musika’s abuse.

“He used to assault me with electrical cables. I lost some of my hair due to his constant assaults. My family decided to take me back because of that,” said Anna.

She went on to claim ownership of the Muchena house, saying she is the one who built it.

“I toiled so hard for 12 years to build that house in Muchena, but today they are chucking me out. I deserve compensation. He is now lying that the stand belongs to his mother, hence we do not have any rights over it, yet it belongs to him. He told me it was his before we got married,” said Anna.

She added: “My brother is looking for him but he is only looking out for his sister. Musika has been abusing me so my brother wants to discipline him,” said Anna.

Mr Chipato granted the protection order in Musiiwa’s favour.
