Abel Zhakata at Forbes Border Post
Operations have normalised at Forbes Border Post in Mutare as the road to the port of Beira is now open.
Trucks were failing to reach the port after several bridges were washed away in Mozambique due to the devastating effects of Cyclone Idai but authorities in the neighbouring country communicated this week that temporary roads had been constructed to aid trade.
A visit to the Forbes Border Post this afternoon by The Manica Post showed that bulk fuel tankers and other haulage trucks were now travelling to and from Beira.
Some clearing agents who had closed shop in the aftermath of the cyclone are now fully operational.
