THE Castle Lager Premiership fixtures for the 2023 season have officially been released, with the campaign scheduled to kick off on Saturday, March 18.
Manicaland Province has two representatives in the top-tier league – Manica Diamonds and GreenFuel, who are both away on the opening day.
The diamond miners set the ball rolling away to fading Harare giants CAPS United, while the ethanol producers get their debut Premiership campaign underway on the road to Yadah.
Football faithful in the province will be treated to the hugely anticipated Battle of Manicaland in the fourth week of the fixtures when newboys GreenFuel entertain Manica Diamonds.
There is also hope among followers of the game that both teams will get to host games at their respective home grounds.
The Chisumbanje outfit are already renovating their GreenFuel Arena, while work is also expected to be done on Sakubva Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Castle Challenge Cup pitting last season’s champions and Chibuku Super Cup knockout tournament winners Bulawayo Chiefs will be the curtain raiser for the season when the two teams square off at Mandava Stadium on March 11.
