THE national vaccination programme in hotspots and border-lying areas is being intensified following a recent spike in Covid-19 cases across the country, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has said.
Mutare is one of the targeted border towns whose residents are at high risk of contracting coronavirus due to cross-border activity.
The 2,5 million vaccines procured by Government are expected to arrive before the end of this month as efforts to combat the spread of Covid-19 continue.
Government will also spend US$70 million to purchase more jabs as the fight against the pandemic intensifies following a third wave of infections.
Health and Child Care Deputy Minister Dr John Mangwiro encouraged people to fully cooperate and get vaccinated.
