Informal traders give to Idai victims MITA members presenting some of the groceries

MUTARE Informal Traders Association today presented various groceries meant for the March 2019 Cyclone Idai victims to Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Nokuthula Matsikenyeri.

MITA has a membership drawn from Dangamvura and Chikanga produce markets, PaBako Flea, TM Upper, Wholesale, Murahwa People’s Greenmarket , Friendly, Bata, The Manica Post and ZB markets.

MITA president, Mr Itai ‘Mabhobho’ Kariparire, said they also feel for the plight of Cyclone Idai victims and it is their desire for them to lead decent lives again.

“We sourced these groceries from our membership and would like to thank everyone who contributed towards this noble cause. As MITA, we are there to foster dialogue with all stakeholders in the city and ensure the empowerment of our members.

“We want to thank Minister Matsikenyeri for the warm reception and accepting our donation,” he said.

The donation includes maize-meal, sugar, cooking oil and detergents among others.
