GOLDEN Peacock Hotel’s new management has adopted an all inclusive approach to business as it will be working closely with communities, tertiary institutions and the business fraternity to stir the tourism facility’s ship to greater heights.

Speaking on the sidelines of a stakeholders cocktail at the hotel last week on Friday, the hotel’s new general manager, Mr Adonis Mutigwe said: “We intend to increase the hotel’s market share in line with the size of the hotel’s products and service through expanding the revenue centres from the traditional conferencing and accommodation to include the hosting of family gatherings such as weddings, parties and graduations. We also want to revive entertainment and outside catering aspects of the hotel.

“We also want to improve the profitability of the investment by reviewing and tightening all revenue centres, enhancing the security of the product and refining the control systems.

“We intend to increase the brand visibility and general service culture by fusing the rich African, Western and Asian cuisines,” said Mr Mutigwe.

He added: “We are already in the process of building a team which shares the same positive vision and improve the staff’s skills by continuous training. We also want to build strong personal and business relations with the local community and its key stake and stoke holders.

“The concept is to capture all the segments in the market and dish out a balanced entertainment cocktail, not just for the Eastern Highlands, but across the country.”

The cocktail, according to Mr Mutigwe, was a platform for the hotel’s new and old staff to mix and mingle with the corporate sector in Mutare and other stakeholders across the tourism and business fraternity.

Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Nokhuthula Matsikenyiri, who was represented by a director in her office, Mr Terrence Machocho, said: “It is a an honour to be part of this engagement event and I am glad to say our office share a great relationship with Golden Peacock Villa Hotel dating back to when it was established. Their efforts to make Manicaland a place to be in terms of tourism and hospitality should not go unappreciated.”

The hotel is an accredited three-star facility and is part of the Golden Peacock Asian brand.

It is also a subsidiary of Anjin Investments which also has interests in mining operations in Zimbabwe.

The hotel opened its doors in 2020 with 83 rooms and due to the growth in business, increased a further 55 rooms to make it the biggest hotel in terms of rooms capacity in the Eastern Highlands.

Golden Peacock Hotel has four big conference rooms with a combined hosting capacity of over 1200 guests.
