His employees have a different tale to tell

His employees have a different tale to tell Towntalk with Blabbermouth

The ManicaPost

THE evil that man does lives after them, but the good is often interred with their bones.

Surely it applies to our dear departed public transport operator!

He was so dear to many of us, no wonder we all shared the grief with the bereaved family when news broke out that he had breathed his last.

Just as his name suggested, he was indeed a blessing to many.

Many truly thank the heavens for the good times they had with him during his days on the face of earth.

Somehow, they feel privileged to have known and interacted with such a wonderful character.

In most of our public spaces, he was always willing to assist and give pleasant company.

With all the money and assets he managed to amass, he remained an epitome of gentle behaviour to most of those he interacted with.

For those who could be wondering who exactly Yours Truly is blabbering about, it is none other than the man who really understood God’s love, with a spiritual catchphrase inscribed on his minibuses.

Be that as it may, the man had his dark side, just like most, if not all of us.

He had this nauseating habit of beating his employees whenever they came back to the garage with coins after a day at work.

Cashing in coins was an abomination to him.

The drivers and conductors would be heavily assaulted if they dared cash in coins, even if the coins were just a small part of the total daily collections.

Yes. What he did not tolerate, for whatever reason, was cashing in of coins.

But apart from that, all other acts of insubordination by the kombi crews would also invite instant and heavy chastisement from our dear departed brother.

This is the kind of relationship that he had with the people who worked so hard to give him all that money which he would eventually spend in the public spaces where we only knew his other side.

Blabber knows that it is unAfrican to speak ill of the deceased, but bear with me, dear reader, in this vocation there is no substitute for the truth.

This is the reason Blabber is now in the final stages of putting together details on the acts of promiscuity of this other widowed wife of this other deceased city big shot.

Yes, you heard me right, his wife is now dating various men barely a year after he died unexpectedly.

Blabber will certainly delve into the details about her latest shenanigans.

For now, let us continue being cautious, the pandemic is robbing us of wonderful characters.

If it used to claim the lives of the rich and the famous, people we didn’t know personally, it is now in our midst and everyone is at risk.

Mask up, sanitise and keep that distance.

Always remember, whatever you are not changing, you are choosing!
