NEWLY promoted top-flight club, GreenFuel FC is eyeing a top five finish this upcoming season.
Following their successful run last season in the Eastern Region Division One, the club management has declared their ambition of being among the top five teams, come the end of the 2023 Castle Premier Soccer League season.
The club has also massively invested in the sprucing up of their GreenFuel Arena Stadium in Chisumbanje to meet the PSL set standards.
Head coach, Lloyd Mutasa who took over the team last season is confident that his charges will deliver in their debut season in the top-flight league.
Said Mutasa: “The team is ready for the PSL and I am happy that I have a balanced squad of both experienced and youthful talent in the likes of Obey Mwerahari, Ishmael Lawi and Chris Mverechena among others.
“We have gone a long way to recruit players from all the corners of the country.
As the team leadership we are aiming to be among the best, so the so-called big teams should undermine us at their own peril,” he said.
GreenFuel skipper, Obey Mwerahari also promised their fans a good show, adding the squad is taking the task ahead seriously and is ready to prove a point.
“We are coming in as underdogs, but we are confident of a top five finish. We have some experienced players who were with the squad last season and a crop of young stars, so the team is strong.
“Morale is high and we want to give our fans value for their money just like we did last season,” he added.
