Government is committed to addressing civil servants’ conditions of service, as it is now paying salaries amounting to three quarters of the cost of living and poverty datum line for those in the security sector, a Cabinet Minister has said.

Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube said Government is gradually improving the quality of life of its employees by addressing their welfare concerns, although this cannot be done at once.

President Mnangagwa instructed Cabinet ministers to work on non-monetary benefits for civil servants as Government continues to make progress in balancing between providing adequate wages to its workers and containing inflation.

“I think we have gone a long way in trying to upgrade the level of salaries and we will continue to do that,” said Prof Ncube.
