Today our topic is on Arts Technology and we are focusing on music technology.
Learners are expected to be able to state at least five music composition software and to explain the uses of music software.
Music software is the technology that forms a set of programmes that are used for the composition, digital recording and creation of electronic music, among other things.
Software is also viewed as music data or instructions that tell the computer how to notate music.
This is also called music technology.
Various music software programmes are available on the internet but there are rules that should be followed when using the internet.
Music composition software include Sibelius, Forte, Ableton Live, Apple logic Pro X, FL Studio.
Sibelius and Forte
Sibelius and Forte are music software with a score writer programme.
They are used for many functions that include composing music and editing band printing music scores.
Sibelius and Forte are interesting to use because they can play back music using different sounds.
Musescore
Musescore is music software with a score writer.
It released a free software under the General Public Licence.
It is accompanied by a playback and online score sharing platform.
It can import and export music to man formats.
Ableton live
Ableton live is a digital audio work station developed by Berlin based Ableton.
It s designed to be an instrument for live performances as well as a tool for composing, recording and arranging music.
It is also suitable for mixing and mastering music.
Apple logic Pro
Apple Logic Pro is a digital audio workstation and was developed in the 90s.
It allows the creating, arranging, mixing and exporting of music.
Fl Studio
FL Studio is an all in-one music production software that allows musicians and producers to create, mix and master music to the most professional standards.
Users can manage all track elements and properly sequence each track using drag and drop capabilities.
