CEPHAS Gwenzi, nephew to Johanne Marange “Highest Priest” — Noah Taguta — was ridiculed when he first shared with relatives a dream he had, in which he was shown a mineral rich area in Odzi.
Several attempts to convince other villagers of what he had seen were received with contempt and some took it as reveries of a man who was fast losing his faculties.
Even Johanne Marange’s highest priest received his nephew’s dream with a pinch of salt as it was hard to believe. But the recurrence of the dream on April 4, 2008 convinced Mr Gwenzi that his was not a mere dream, but a vision from God.
He decided to pursue it until it finally came true last week when human remains were discovered in an abandoned copper mining shaft that he came across after following the dictates of his dream.
The remains are believed to belong to liberation war fighters who were caught while trying to cross into Mozambique for training.
The 32-metre deep copper mining shaft was discovered in Village J2 in Chiwere, Odzi under Chief Marange.
Gwenzi was given an opportunity to retell his dream before the Minister of State for Manicaland provincial affairs Cde Monica Mutsvangwa, Zanu PF provincial chairman Cde Michael Madiro, Chief Marange’s representatives, senior Government officials and villagers who were at the mining shaft to witness the exhumation of the human remains.
“It appears as if people were wrapped in a group of four or five, sprinkled with acid and then thrown into the mining shaft,” said chief exhumer Mr Anyway Chinyani.
But it was Mr Gwenzi’s narration of how he dreamt of the place that captivated the hearts of many.
“On April 4 2008, I had a dream in which a certain man came to me saying he wanted to show me a place rich in minerals. We flew to this place which was being mined by the Germans before they were ousted by the Ian Smith’s UDI,” he said.
“I was told there were a lot of people who died on this land. The man told me there was a shaft with some tools which were being used by the Germans to mine here. I was told they failed to carry them upon being chased by Ian Smith’s soldiers,” he said.
Mr Gwenzi said he was told in his dream that many foreign countries including Britain and United States had maps to the area and they were busy trying to access it.
“He said this was the richest mine in the world and the President of this country should know of this mine. He said he had decided to show me so that people of this nation will earn a living from the minerals underneath,” he said.
Mr Gwenzi said, in his dream, he had been shown diamond rich mountain South of the mining shaft with human remains.
“I was also shown a belt which stretches from Mozambique to where we are standing which has got diamond, copper, nickel, platinum, gold and emerald. He said he wanted the citizens of this nation to survive on the minerals but the leaders of this land must know of it first,” he said.
Mr Gwenzi said the man who came into his dream flew him to Britain where he was shown some offices with the maps to the site.
“We then flew to another land where he said it was America and another map was produced. We went to a certain office where we met Donald Trump. I am not known to him but it was when I saw him for the first time. He was in possession of another map which shows this mine. Trump is also aware that this is the richest mine in the world,” he said.
Mr Gwenzi said he was also shown another shaft where there was equipment and machinery which the Germans used. He said some of the machinery was working.
“The man in my dream said, the Germans who were operating in this place were involved in adultery. He said when your leaders want to mining from here, adultery will be forbidden. The man said the area was like the biblical place where Abraham stayed,” he said.
Mr Gwenzi said he was told in his dream that when mining commences in the area, there was need to build a town bigger than Odzi with schools and an 18-inch wall to protect the area from vandals.
He claimed he was shown the site where the town should be built.
“The man ended by saying I am God and whenever you are mining people should respect the word of God. Before I informed the village leaders, the man returned into my dreams and said he wanted to show me the direction of the area.
“He showed me the mountain and when I followed, I finally reached to the mining shaft. I then went back home and jotted everything down until I informed the villagers who began suspecting that I was losing my faculties,” he said.
