A NYANGA man is accusing his daughter-in-law of bringing into his family powerful goblins that have allegedly outwitted his own.

The daughter-in-law, Ever Chifumbu’s alleged goblins are said to have overpowered the Mushonga family goblins and locked Collin Mushonga’s manhood, rendering him useless to his second wife and any other woman.

Collin’s father, Martin Mushonga of Chitepo Village, made the startling revelation during a hearing at Acting Chief Saunyama’s court last Friday.

The Mushongas were seeking Chifumbu’s eviction.

Drama characterised the court session as the enraged elderly man physically attacked Acting Chief Saunyama’s aides and Chifumbu’s brothers.

This was after Chifumbu’s brothers had wedged a spirited defence in support of their sister.

The elderly Mushonga was later fined three goats for contempt of court.

Collin claimed that his manhood was rendered useless when Chifumbu swore before her relatives and Village head Chitepo that she no longer wanted to be intimate with him.

“I am suffering day and night and I want her (Chifumbu) nowhere near my homestead. She dabbles in black magic and her goblins have locked my manhood. I have become impotent ever since this woman declared that I will never be intimate with anyone else besides her.

“Imagine marrying a new wife, and after paying lobola, only to realise that you are useless in bed on your first night with her. That is my situation. Ever since I married my second wife in 2020, I have never been intimate with her because Chifumbu swore that I will only be intimate with her,” he said.

Collin described his second wife as a strong woman as she has endured staying with him despite his glaring shortcomings in the bedroom.

He further explained that after consulting several traditional healers, they said his nightmares will be over if Chifumbu is evicted from the Mushonga homestead.

He also said he now fears that Chifumbu’s goblins will continue outwitting the Mushonga goblins.

However, Collin’s father rose from his seat and addressed the court.

“Do not be economic with words Collin, tell them like it is. Her goblins are wreaking havoc at my homestead. They are outsmarting our own goblins. We want her gone. We cannot have goblins from two different families at our homestead. She should leave so that our family goblins can enjoy a free reign. My son should be able to start a new family,” charged the older Mushonga.

Collin and Chifumbu had been married for 20 years before he married another wife.

“We have no children together because of the spiritual curses she has. I need to have children, hence my decision to marry another woman. I also gave her a divorce token, but she told me off,” said Collin.

In response, Chifumbu said she had every right to continue staying at the homestead as she contributed in its development.

“He (Collin) went away for years and I maintained the homestead. I even made some developments during his absence. I cannot pack my bags for him to stay with his new wife. In fact, his father has already allocated him a new stand where he is already building with his new wife. He should stay there and let me stay at the old homestead peacefully,” she said.

Chifumbu denied possessing goblins and practising witchcraft.

“These allegations are meant to tarnish my good standing in the society. These men are bitter because I occupy the fertile piece of the family land that was meant for Collin,” explained the distraught Chifumbu.

Acting Chief Saunyama adjourned the matter to January 28 to allow the family to consult more traditional healers on the issues.

“We will only deal with the eviction matter after the manhood issue has been dealt with,” ruled Acting Chief Saunyama.
