VUMBA’S wonder resort, White Horse Inn — situated 15km from Mutare — is a place to be this month of love as couples celebrate peace, love and unity in relationships as well as renew vows and rekindle dimming candles of love.

Yes, couples travel, spend quality time together anytime of the year, but there is something special about Valentine’s Day, hence the need to plan a perfect date and make it a day and night to remember for all the right reasons.

Situated in the scenic and therapeutic thickets of Vumba, the Inn’s Valentine’s calendar started on February 1 with a fabulous package. The promotion runs till February 28. Standard Double room Bed and Breakfast costs as little as $80, while the Standard room is at $60 a night with breakfast.

White Horse Inn management, said they had great plans in store for guests this February, particularly on the most romantic 24-hours of the year — February 14.

And on the special day up to February 19, there are hard-to-resist cuisines tailored for all ages such as seafood cocktail, homemade mushroom soup, curried vegetables, roasted topside of beef with Yorkshire pudding, trout-meuniere or poached in white wine, grilled T-bone steak and pepper sauce, cold ham, chicken and salad, apple crumble, pecan pie with custard, vanilla or chocolate ice cream and complimentary glass of wine.

Time will be allocated for couples to exchange gifts and roses and flowers, confessions or even asking for a hand in marriage (for men).

Upon request some meals will be served outside where guests will have a date with some rare species of trees and plants that surround the terraced gardens and attract a huge variety of bird life, magnificent footpaths, natural streams, as well as the Vumba’s rare Samango monkeys.

An expert resident bird guide is available for guided bird walks upon request. There is an excellent WIFI facility. Outgoing activities include bird watching and mountain climbing.

The Inn has strategically 12 rooms and two-mini suites, decorated in soft colours to complement the superb outdoor vegetation, a delight to the eye all year round.

Last year the Inn recorded a full house after couples from Mutare and beyond attended the candle light dinner.

Venerated jazz crooner, Steve Chikotie captivated guests with some dexterity touches on the acoustic guitar as well as his husky voice.
