A police constable stationed at Dangamvura Police Station is in trouble after allegedly teaming up with his girlfriend to steal from her employer.

Blessed Zaranyika (30) who resides at ZRP Dangamvura Camp and Tafadzwa Panganai (20) appeared before Mutare provincial magistrate, Mr Richard Ramaboea, facing theft charges.

They were not asked to plead and were granted $500 bail each.

Public prosecutor, Ms Nyasha Mukonyora told the court that the two lovebirds committed the crime on February 17.

“The complainant, Shamiso Mombe of Westlea was Panganai’s employer and on the day in question, the domestic worker and her boyfriend hatched a plan to steal from the complainant.

“They took advantage of the fact that Mombe was not home. Panganai stole US$570, groceries, clothes, make up kits, Brazilian hair wigs and some blankets,” the court heard.
