MUTASA South’s Zanu PF shadow legislator Cde Misheck Mugadza has expressed concern over rising cases of deviant behaviour among school-going children in the constituency.
Social vices such as substance abuse, gold panning along Odzi River and other criminal tendencies are reportedly taking a toll on youths in Mutasa South and this has been attributed to that there is no school going on due to the national lockdown.
Schools have not opened for the second term and remain closed under Level Four lockdown aimed at combating the spread of Covid-19.
Cde Mugadza said communities in the constituency need to come together and find ways of reining in the youths to keep their behaviour under check because they are the future leaders.
The present generation of youths, he added, can contribute meaningfully to their area as well as country’s growth and success through National Development Strategy 1 which espouses leaving no one and no place behind.
