ZIFA Eastern  Region Division One League have been hit by resignations of coaches after three coaches left for various reasons  within a period of one week.

Barely three weeks after the league started, Green Fuels have parted ways with head coach, Taku Shariwa.

The latest development comes after the Ethanol Boys managed a single point from three league matches. They forced a 1-1 draw with Melfort and lost 1-0  and 2-0 to Tenax and new boys Chipinge Stars respectively.

Reached for comment the outspoken gaffer confirmed that he was no longer with the Chisumbanje based outfit.

Shariwa led Green Fuels to a credible second place finish in the eastern region league  race last season.

“I just decided to step down. I was no longer interested,” he said.

Shariwa’s resignation comes after Masvingo United coach Shaddy ‘Father’ Mugurasave kissed goodbye to the former premiership side.

Mugurasave  joined the Masvingo outfit shortly before the season kicked off  after a fall out with Buffaloes FC last season.

Mugurasave was relieved of his duties in September last year after a poor streak of results that saw the army outfit collecting a single point out of a possible 18 in their 2018  Zifa Eastern Region Division One League race.

He was   replaced by former Africa Trust gaffer Leonard Jombe whose marriage with the army side did not last long and handed the button stick to an in- experienced Dananai Chinowawa.

“I am at work now . I will talk to you later. I am no longer with Masvingo United,” he said before cutting the conversation short.

Mutare City’s hopes of a quick return to the PSL are  in disarray as coach Chasten Ngondonga decided  to desert the Municipality-owned team.

Ngondonga  was appointed coach shortly before the start of the season and  replaced caretaker coach  Ndega Matsika who was then relegated to the post of assistant coach .

Ngondonga  captained Mutare City Rovers, a team he joined in 2016 from Triangle FC. He is a holder of  Caf C and B coaching licences.

Ngondonga told Post Sport that he parted ways with Gusha Bhora for reasons better known to himself.

“I felt that it was high time I leave Gusha Bhora. I cannot say much . There are personal reasons why I left the club. At least it is good to leave when all things are in order,” he said.

Sources who declined to be named told Post Sport that Ndongonda was not in good books with his assistant coach  Ndega Matsika. The sources said that the former Mutare City Rovers captain has links with Green Fuels.

“Chasten had issues with his assistant coach Ndega Matsika. He is  also linked  with a move to Green Fuels. He is likely to be taking charge on Green Fuel anytime from now. Chasten only lost a game against United Lions. He managed to collect maximum points against Mwenezana and Bikita Minerals,” said the source.

Meanwhile Mutare City Rovers players boycotted  training  on Tuesday  morning citing non payment of salaries and two winning bonuses.
