CHIPINGE District is set to resume the clean-up campaigns that had been stopped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking during a preparatory meeting at Chipinge Town Council today, Chipinge District Development Coordinator, Mr William Mashava said all is set for the exercise on Friday.

“The idea is to always maintain a clean environment everywhere around us. Everyone needs to be involved in this initiative because it is for our own good. Clean environs promote a healthy lifestyle,” said Mr Mashava.

Echoing similar sentiments, the district environmental officer, Mr Wilbert Chaurura said keeping communities clean is a shared concern and collective responsibility.

He said corporate entities in Chipinge need to play a leading role in proper waste management.

Chipinge Town Council community service officer, Mr Tawanda Maoneke said the local authority is engaging local business operators to ensure that they uphold good environmental standards.
