Chipinge man lands top African job Mr Phil Mlambo

CHIPINGE-BORN, Mr Phil Mlambo, has been appointed Junior Achievement (JA) Africa’s new chief operating officer.

JA Africa is a leading international non-profit organisation currently operating in 12 African countries with a mission to prepare young Africans for entrepreneurship and financial literacy programmes.

JA Africa is head quartered in Accra, Ghana
Mr Mlambo’s appointment is with effect from July 1.

 

He joins the executive management team at JA Africa from his previous role as executive director of JA Africa Zimbabwe, a post he held from 2005.

 

He is experienced in street youth rehabilitation, youth sexual and reproductive health education and youth business education.

Mr Mlambo said he looks forward to help African youths to achieve more in empowerment programmes.

“I feel humbled and excited to join JA Africa’s executive team. I am looking forward to continue learning and growing together with all colleagues in this organisation for us to attain the targets and goals set by JA Worldwide.

“I am also looking forward to complimenting my colleagues’ efforts and operationalise the organisation’s vision.

“I hope as a region we will be successful in preparing and inspiring African youths to succeed in the global economy,” he said.

In a Press statement, JA Africa said Mr Mlambo has proven capacity as an administrator, mobiliser and excellent team player.

“Mr Mlambo who has been with JA Africa for 16 years is a leading figure in the digitalisation programmes in the Africa region.

“His expertise will be valuable in building the capacity of our member nations and ensuring operational excellence,” reads part of the statement.

Mr Mlambo attained his primary and secondary education at Gwenzi and Muzite primary schools, before proceeding to Chikore High School.
