Manicaland Provincial Education Director Mr Edward Shumba says schools in Chimanimani should adequately prepare for the phased reopening of schools next month to curb them from becoming yet another Covid-19 death trap for the Chimanimani area which was ravaged by Cyclone Idai last year.

Mr Shumba was speaking at the district launch of the production of Personal Protective Equipment at Biriri High School in Chimanimani yesterday where World Vision Zimbabwe donated 13 customised mobile water tanks with a 1000 litre carrying capacity to several schools in Chimaninimani.

Speaking during the handover of the tanks at Biriri High school World Vision Zimbabwe Intergrated Programs Director Khumbulani Ndlovu said they would be distributing more tanks to schools in the district to complement the efforts of the Ministry Of Education and other partners in ensuring that schools are prepared for reopening next month
