A CHIKANGA-BASED upcoming hip-hop artiste, Cliff Gwaya, who is popularly known in the local music circles as Pugama has released an Afro-fusion hip-hop single that has been well received by lovers of the genre in the high-density suburbs.

The hip-hop single, “Amina Kadeya” which is also Gwaya’s first production is a dance track with has a mixture of Afro-fusion beats and is a good party tune.

The lyrics in the song talk about the ‘good life’ that city dwellers have and how despite all the economic hardships can still party and play the childhood game popurlaly known as ‘Amina Kadeya’.

The song was named after the popular house game.

Gwaya (24) said the single was already rocking the local club scene and parties in and around the city.

The single which was produced by Marcus Chimwaza at Mad House Studios in HobHouse also features Chimwaza who is also a local hip-hop artiste.

Gwaya, a poet-cum-artiste, said his fans had welcomed the dance tune and were already playing it at house parties that are now popular in ghettos.

He, however, said the general public was still adjusting to the genre track as most ghetto dwellers are used to the Zim-dancehall music genre.

“We are in the middle of taking our music to the people and hip-hop lovers have already fallen in love with it as it is a mix of afro-fusion and hip-hop and one can dance to it.

“Some are still adjusting however, to this kind of music as most are used or should I say already addicted to Zim-dancehall music,” he said.
