ONE of Mutare’s talented artistes, Lionel ‘Caff’ Matanda, is going through trying times following a fall-out with his manager-cum-wife, Faith, who has taken the social media by storm.

Popularly known as Manager Fay or Mai Caff, the controversial socialite has torched a storm on the internet following her social media skits on various issues, some in bad taste, including her acrimonious relationship with Caff.

This has detrimentally crippled Caff’s promising career, at least for now, after Faith took over his Facebook account, changed it to Mai Caff and announced that she is now in charge.

Caff no longer has access to his Facebook account, a platform where he would engage thousands of followers through posting his works, including new and old music, videos and forthcoming shows, as well as making announcements and updating his fans.

Post Entertainment has established that Caff and Faith are married under the Marriage Act (Chapter 5:11), but their marriage has irretrievably broken down.

According to Faith, their marriage was a ‘deal’.

However, to Caff, their marriage was an achievement.

The two had a low profile wedding at Mutare Civil Court.

A few weeks prior to the union, Faith had assumed the role of Caff’s manager.

It was a rollercoaster journey as Caff started having a series of shows across Mutare.

However, things took a nasty twist when Faith took over Caff’s official Facebook account and started posting some videos, most of them in bad taste.

Recently, she posted herself semi-naked while covering herself with pieces of meat.

She later posted the same meat, now cooked, saying it was meant for her new boyfriend.

While many thought Faith was trying to market brand Caff and the page, Post Entertainment has it on good authority that the two are no longer intimately together.

Caff has moved out of the family home in Dangamvura, while Faith remained there.

In separate interviews this week, Caff and Faith confirmed the development.

Faith is now working on her debut album due for release soon, while Caff said he is down but not out.

It is, however, not a secret that the talented musician failed dismally to separate music from his personal life, while Faith is riding on Caff’s popularity to launch her career, whether as a comedienne or an artiste.

Whichever way, the route is already muddy.

“I will never remarry. I have learnt my lesson. When I got married to Faith, I never thought it was a deal. She wanted to ride on my popularity. I pray to God that all shall be well again.

“I am down but not out. I am working on releasing a new video soon. It is true that I lost my Facebook account to her and I am working on opening a new one soon.

“Her social media posts made me more popular, but my career has been dented as there are people who are not attracted to controversy, but I will bounce back,” said Caff.

Faith said: “I am now pushing my own work using Caff’s brand. I took over his accounts because I contributed much to the growth of his brand. I will soon be releasing an album.

“We are no longer together. The only thing that is binding us is the marriage certificate.

“We parted ways after his past relationship started haunting us. I now have a new boyfriend. I have my own riches and I can take care of myself,” she said.
