WHAT is this that we hear about our dear departed man of God who was involved in a freaky accident at his home in that other city that never sleeps?
The holier-than-thou man of the cloth breathed his last at a local medical institution.
All those who knew him know very well that he was a gifted preacher who managed to free many souls from the shackles of sin and taught them to seek comfort and protection in the Almighty.
This he did and achieved with unparalleled aplomb.
No one doubted his proficiency in communicating the word of the Almighty and we all revered him for that.
But somehow, Blabber being Blabber will never lose sight of the obvious fact that we all have our strengths and weaknesses.
In as much as this dear departed pastor brought souls to the Lord’s embassy, he also had a weakness for sweetness.
Word reaching Yours Truly is that the married pastor was head over heels in love with this other female married church secretary and their illicit affair was known by all those who were close to them, except for their matrimonial partners.
Love life is always like that, dear reader, you are always the last to know that your partner is cheating on you.
Blabber has it on good authority that when the affair started, the two illicit lovebirds would enjoy quality time each time they went out on foreign trips purportedly on church business.
They enjoyed their union to the extent that when foreign trips were not coming their way, they would meet in the capital city.
It is common, dear reader, that when an illicit love affair turns sweet, all caution is thrown to the wind.
These two did exactly that!
They started meeting in some secluded local joints.
Blabber is informed that when the man of God opened a guesthouse in one of the local suburbs, he was the first to sample the comfort of the beds.
There is really no prize for guessing in whose sweet company he was.
While many will be quick to judge and label him, Yours Truly understands that he was human too and these are some of the temptations that we meet on a daily basis.
The only thing that Blabber condemns is that the man of God chose to date a married woman at a time when single and widowed women are crying out for male partners.
As Blabber carries on with the honourable duty of preserving the little that remains of our moral fabric, Yours Truly hopes that the Lord Almighty will forgive His son for giving in to temptation.
