MUTARE Pool League (MPL) log leaders, Shoverland were held to a 12-all stalemate by Fantasy in a surprise result that reduced the inform pacesetters’ lead at the summit of the table.

The log leaders are now separated by a single point from second placed reigning champions, Rozvie Empire and Villa Spot, who both have amassed 27 points respectively.

Star-studded Beer Garden are fourth with 24 points.

The Shoverland draw at home against Fantasy on MPL Match Day Nine will be followed by a tricky away fixture against troublesome Neighbourhood, a situation that could complicate matters for the star-studded league new boys.

However, Shoverland captain, Believe Mutore believes that the draw against Fantasy was a minor setback and his team would bounce back to its winning ways.

“You win some and lose some, that is a norm in sport. However, we will make sure that we give it our best shot so that we get back to our winning ways in the next league match.

“It will not be easy against Neighbourhood, playing away from home, but I believe we have what it takes to upset them in their own backyard,” said Mutore.

On other matches played on Match Day Nine, Boss Kedha got free pool lessons from high ridding Beer Garden after their match ended on a humiliating 18-6 scoreline.

Beer Garden have been unforgiving in their MPL matches so far and they remain one of the top contenders for the top gong at the end of the season together with Rozvie Empire and Villa Spot.

Villa Spot trounced hapless Buffalo 16-8 in another encounter, while weeping boys, Winsor picked their first set of maximum point after beating T-One 13-11.

It remains to be seen whether Villa Spot will carry on with their fine form when they date Fantasy away from home, given that Fantasy is the same team that produced a surprise result against the log leaders last weekend.
