BUDDING Mutare-born artiste, Tatenda Chirwa, popularly known in the music circles as Honourable TAC, has released a single — “Happy Birthday Gushungo” — in honour of President Mugabe who turns 92 on February 21.
The potential hit was recorded at Optisonic Studios by Leeman.
Chirwa, a versatile artiste with brighter days ahead of him musically, said he was motivated to compose the song because of President Mugabe’s selfless character.
“President Mugabe is my role model.
“He is our role model as youths and as Zimbabweans.
“We have so much to learn from him and we are forever grateful for his undying love.
The song acknowledges the good works he has done and I wish him many more years,” said Chirwa, who is employed as a salesman at a local bakery.
He said he was also inspired by veteran Ragga Manyika outfit, Assegai Crew’s founding member, the late Stobart Chidikano.
“Assegai Crew’s music founded by Stobart is an inspiration to most upcoming artistes like us. We adore the group’s versatility and I wish to reach that level,” he added.
The youthful musician said he was set to release a 10-track project titled “Gore Remachanges” in the near future.
The album will feature other upcoming musicians to make a medley.
