SMEAR campaign in the Anglican Church Diocese of Manicaland went a gear up recently after one of the feuding factions circulated rumours that a pastor from the other faction was caught pants down with a colleague’s wife.
Reverend Position Chikuruwo, who is said to have allegedly caught red-handed being intimate with a colleague’s wife, dismissed the information as nonsense.
“I will not dignify nonsense by responding,” he said.
Social media had it that Rev Chikuruwo was recently caught in a compromising position with Lynnette Manyumwa who is married to a fellow reverend, Rev Talent Makanga.
When contacted for comment, Rev Makanga dismissed the allegations as fiction.
“Nothing like that ever happened. I would not want to discuss fictitious issues with newspapers concerning my name,” he said.
Rumours went round that Rev Chikuruwo was caught pants down with Reverend Makanga’s wife after the former and his wife had attended a party at a senior church members’ house.
