The show’s major draw card will be multiple award winner, Jah Prayzah, who will be performing live on Sunday from 12pm to 2pm.

It’s now all systems go for this year’s Manicaland Agricultural Show, which will for the first time run for five days.

Unlike in previous years when the show would run for four days, the organisers have added a day and the show will run from next Wednesday to Sunday.

Running under the theme: “Embracing climate change through sustainable innovations”, exhibitors will be exhibiting in 13 categories.

The categories include livestock, flowers, household, forestry, art and craft, mining, needlework, apiculture, agriculture produce, small-scale farmers and commercial (for companies), drum majorettes and main arena events.

Manicaland Agricultural Show Society acting administrator, Ms Pedzisai Rusero, said this year’s event would be bigger and better compared to previous years.

“We want to have a memorable event this year and we will be opening our offices this Saturday (September 24) from 8am to 12pm to enable exhibitors to pay for their stands.

“We encourage all exhibitors to visit our offices on September 23, 24, 26 and 27 to have photographs taken for their identification cards.

‘‘We want to prepare on time so that everything will be in order when the show rolls to life.

‘‘We want everyone in attendance to benefit in one way or the other,” she said.

Ms Rusero said the show would be officially opened by Minister of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs, Cde Mandi Chimene next Friday and a cocktail would be held at Golden Peacock Hotel on the same day at 6pm.

The show’s major draw card will be multiple award winner, Jah Prayzah, who will be performing live on Sunday from 12pm to 2pm.

Other artistes expected to perform at the show include Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Soul Jah Love, Juicer Mpostori, Diamond Kid and other Mutare-based artistes. Soul Jah Love will be performing on Saturday.

“This will be a fun-filled event and everyone’s needs will be catered for. We are calling on all residents of Manicaland to throng Mutare Showgrounds in their numbers for a memorable outing. We should celebrate the success of the province together,” she said.
