ZANU PF Mutare youths have dismissed claims by MDC Alliance that the former attacked the convoy of the latter’s leaders in Mutare this week, saying the move is a continuation of a failed strategy to tarnish the country’s image.

Addressing a press conference in Mutare yesterday, Mutare District Coordination Youth League chairman, Cde Danmore Mambondiani, said MDC Alliance’s actions reflect an irresponsible brand of politics.

“In summary, one can thus see that this new claim of attacks and gunshots by the MDC Alliance is merely a continuation of failed black ops strategy aimed at smearing the integrity of the Government, and the people of Zimbabwe. The Government is seized with expanding the power grid, increasing dams’ capacity and rehabilitating road infrastructure as well as creating an environment conducive for job creation.

“Clearly, the actions of the MDC Alliance reflect an irresponsible brand of politics which does not care about the welfare of the citizens. All these actions aimed at courting the attention of the United Nations special rapporteur, Ms Alena Douhan, and to ensure sanctions are held firm, shall fail. We alert all unvisited provinces to be on be on the lookout.

“MDC Alliance should learn to put the interests of Zimbabweans first and foremost, and not the interests of an embassy seeking to pillage and continue with unbridled hegemony over our resources,” said Cde Mambondiani.
