A 52-YEAR-OLD disabled Zimunya woman was on Monday found dead in a bush in a suspected case of murder.

The body of Elizabeth Mupambwa, who could not walk, was found with bruises and blood oozing from her mouth a few kilometres from her homestead.

Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed the incident which happened in Nakai Villa in Muromo, Zimunya.

He said Elizabeth might have been killed before her body was dragged from her homestead to the nearby bush.

He said the assailants were still at large and investigations were in progress.

“Elizabeth’s sister, Enia went to a nearby river to wash some clothes, and left the former alone at home. Enia returned home a few hours later and could not locate her sister. She searched for her and proceeded to a nearby bush where she saw Elizabeth’s body with bruises all over, while blood was coming from her mouth. There was also a trail from the homestead to the scene,” said Assistant Inspector Chinyoka.
