A self-confessed trainee witch who was recently caught naked in her neighbour’s house at midnight is accusing her friend of initiating her into the underworld of witchcraft against her will.

Enesis Kaisa was ordered to pay a fine of four cattle when she was dragged to Acting Chief Saurombe’s court.

Two of the cattle will be used to cleanse the Chonai Village, while the remaining two will be handed over to the victim as appeasement.

However, in challenging her sentence, Kaisa exposed her mentor, Jane Siduli.

She argued that her friend, Siduli, initiated her into witchcraft against her will and should therefore face the same penalty.

She claimed that on the night in question, Siduli deserted her during their witchcraft mission when she realised that they were about to get caught.

Kaisa argued that she was still learning the witchcraft ropes and therefore did not know how to escape.

“We fined Kaisa because she was the one who was caught red-handed in the house. Siduli was nowhere in sight. However, Kaisa’s parents want Siduli to compensate them for allegedly initiating their daughter into witchcraft,” said Acting Chief Saurombe.

“We have summoned Siduli to appear before my court to answer to the witchcraft allegations behind levelled against her by Kaisa.

“She is denying all the allegations so we will seek the services of spiritual healers to reveal the truth. When we conducted our investigations, we discovered that Kaisa was in the company of someone else that night because there was evidence of a scuffle just outside the victim’s homestead.

“Kaisa says she fought with Siduli as she was forcing her to practise witchcraft,” said Acting Chief Saurombe.

Kaisa allegedly soiled herself as she wandered inside the kitchen hut as she failed to locate her target.

Acting Chief Saurombe said this is evidence that Kaisa was still a learner.

When confronted, Kaisa said she had been sent by Siduli on a mission to kill the baby.

“The victim is a well-known prayer warrior in this village.

“She protects her homestead from witches and wizards through muteyo (spiritual protection). Her granddaughter was the witches’ target,” said Acting Chief Saurombe.
