The venue will reverberate into sound and dance tomorrow (Saturday) as music giants Jah Prayzah, Freeman and Mambo Dhuterere headline music festivities dubbed ‘Summer Fest’.
The three powerhouses will be supported by local ensembles Hollies B, Caff, Mystery, Assegai Crew and Voltz.
Jah Prayzah is expected to belt out a blend of new and old tracks such as Jerusarema, Maria, Kumbumura Mhute, Bvumbamira, Ticheneke and many others, while Freeman’s hit songs Pombi, Robbery, Unobvuma Here and Handina Godo are expected to be part of the artiste’s track list.
Manicaland Showgrounds
One of the country’s biggest entertainers, Winky D, headlines this year’s Manicaland Agricultural Show carnival at the Showgrounds.
He will entertain thousands of people expected to throng the venue for the annual fête. Winky D, who has a rich discography, has an avalanche of danceable tracks such as Ijipita, Njema, MuGarden, Ngirozi, Gombwe, Happy Again, Reply and Twenty Five, among others.
He will perform alongside local acts, Edge Sparta, Herman, Dally Boy, Game Changers Dance Group and Police displays.
Casa De Liquor
Afro Jazz sensation and Chibuku Road to Fame national representatives, Expressions Band, tonight entertain patrons at the upmarket bar.
They will be supported by resident deejays Frazer and Terminator.
Jazz musician, Steve Chikotie features at the jazz night on Sunday.
Club Mandisa
The stage has been set for a potential thriller as celebrated Zim dancehall chanter, Jah Master will be performing at the joint tonight.
The chanter who rose to fame with the plug track Hello Mwari is expected to send dancehall lovers into a frenzy with hits like Ndiri Mutadzi, Kasweet 16, Tenda Mwari and Ndarota.
Villa Spot
Harare-based wheel spinner, Templeman and local veteran deejay, Ranga T clash on the turntables on Sunday in a gig dubbed ‘The two Godfathers Collision Course’.
They will be supported by resident deejays Slimphat DJ, Shamie D, Quick, Famous and Brizz.
Chitsa Bar
DJ Spills headline tonight’s Friday Club bangers fiesta before he joins other selected deejays tomorrow for the old skool and new skool fiesta.
Ragga Manyika outfit, Assegai Crew, performs at the joint.
Fourth Street Lounge
The open air joint, situated at the Showgrounds, officially opens today with a two-day performance by Apama Arts.
The show, sponsored by Boss Terry, will see DJ Ezzie backing the comic dancer on the turntables.
