Mutare City Council has been urged to urgently restore normal water supply in some parts of the city which have gone for days without the essential resource.
Speaking on behalf of residents over the issue, United Mutare Residents and Ratepayers Trust programmes manager, Mr Edson Dube, called on the city fathers to take people’s lives seriously.
He said water shortages during this Covid-19 era were detrimental to health.
Responding to the matter Town Clerk Mr Joshua Maligwa said the shortages were caused by burst water pipes which have since been repaired.
Residents in Zimta and Bernwin have gone for close to a week without supplies while there is massive rationing in Chikanga.
